The Project

VIERZEHNEINHALB – a transmedia project about wheelchair users, ABs and everything what’s in between.

Our film project “VIERZEHNEINHALB” (FOURTEEN-AND-A-HALF) accompanies the wheelchair basketball players of the BG Baskets Hamburg for one year on the court and privately. An intense time that is about much more than “just sports”. Director Guido Weihermüller and our film team from Close Distance Productions tell the moving stories of the nine players from seven different nations who not only train together, but also live together under one roof. Each of them has his own past, goals and dreams. And because each story is very personal and individual, we also tell it in different media: as a web series in the Internet, as a TV documentary and as a feature film on the big screen.

FOURTEEN-AND-A-HALF COLLISIONS” – the movie.

The 97-minute film documentary tells the stories of Asael and Ali, who make a special friendship, and Julian, who returns to life with the help of the basketball pros.

On Sept. 30th. 2018 our movie “FOURTEEN-AND-A-HALF COLLISIONS” celebrated its world premiere at the FILMFEST HAMBURG!

The “Inclusive Premiere” took place on the 1st of October 2018 in the “Schmidtchen” theatre on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg. You can find picture galleries of the two premieres on our VIERZEHNEINHALB Facebook profile.

After the Hamburg Film Festival, “FOURTEEN-AND-A-HALF COLLISIONS” will be screened in more “Special Screenings”, before it hits cinemas throughout Germany.

Even before the official theatrical release “FOURTEEN-AND-A-HALF COLLISIONS” is now available for special screenings and can be shown on request as a “Special Screening.” Schools also have the opportunity to acquire the film with extensive accompanying material by obtaining a school license.

 “Very impressive!”
(Hamburger Abendblatt)

“This is how a film about inclusion and rehabilitation should be.”
(Peter Richarz, Deutscher Rollstuhl-Sportverband)

“Everything in life is a matter of perspective.”
(Guido Weihermüller, Director”)

VIERZEHNEINHALB ONLINE

Our web series on www.vierzehneinhalb.de is the heart of our project. Here you can get to know the players and accompany them with their experiences on and off the court. How and why do the players live together on the grounds of the BG hospital? Who are the best players in the team? What conflicts and friendships arise between the athletes? And how do the two women assert themselves when it everything gets rough? With the short EPISODES, CLIPS and NEWS you are always up to date. You will also get background information about the players under TEAM & PLAYERS and you can see who appears in which video.

“VIERZEHNEINHALB – Basketball on Wheels” on DVD (and TV)

At the beginning of August, shortly before the wheelchair basketball world championship in Hamburg, the 43-minute TV documentary “FOURTEEN-ONE-FOOL- Basketball on Wheels” was shown in the ARD-SPORTSCHAU. This documentary is all about Anne Patzwald, Mareike Miller and Kai Möller – the three German national players of the BG Baskets. We accompanied them on their way through the “Selection Camps” of the national teams and experienced impressive situations. For all who have missed the broadcast on the ARD, there is the DVD for 10.00 Euro. Just write us an email to redaktion@vierzehneinhalb.de
